DNS and WebRTC leaks

The address changes the IP of the page. It does not change everything the browser tells.

Sending the page through an address changes two things not at all. The DNS query, which turns a name into an IP, can keep leaving straight from your network. And WebRTC, used by calls inside the browser, can reveal your real IP to the page.

How to see it

The anonymity tool says which country a server sees for the address. If it shows the right country and the page still knows where you are, the leak is DNS or WebRTC, and the fix is in the browser, not in the address.

Turning WebRTC off in the profile and sending DNS through the same path fixes it. Changing the address does not.
